Bottesford NHW Alert: Suspicious Vehicle / Cold Call Sales - Home Alarms / Vandalism / Theft of Diesel

Cold Call Sales - Home Alarms

Please beware of cold call salespersons offering allegedly monitored home alarm systems. One such caller recently offered an elderly couple such a system priced at £3,000 - and this was supposed to be a 50% reduction on the full cost! The system was subsequently valued independently at £300. As always NHW advises everyone to refrain from buying form cold callers – it only encourages them. If you need a product or service approach  reputable firms and get three quotes before committing to purchase.

Suspicious Vehicle

A White Transit type van reg WK03 YYB has recently been reported acting suspiciously in the area. Please be on the alert for this vehicle & report anything suspicious to the police.

Vandalism

A post with two rubbish bins attached located on the Normanton straight between Bottesford and Normanton was vandalised possibly overnight last Sat/Sun. We should all be angry about such mindless vandalism - we all pay for it through our council tax, so it’s our money that is being wasted. If anyone has information about this incident please report it to the police on the 101 non-emergency number and/or share it with us at NHW.

Theft of Diesel

The police are reporting thefts of diesel from building sites recently. If you keep diesel on your site/premises, consider fencing, CCTV, and a good lock to help keep your supplies safe.

If you spot anything suspicious or are a victim of crime please call 101 or 999 in an emergency or if a crime is in progress.
