“Just flagging a cold call we've had just now as I'm a bit dubious and others may be approached too.

 

I had a call from a firm in London who claim to offer a free system check on solar panels. We have some. He said they  have people in the area. I said yes initially. I tried to ring them back but number unobtainable. I then got a call from someone else to say then their local guy Mark could call and I arranged for him  to come 20 mins later. I looked them up online  before he arrived. New company one woman director no accounts.

 

When the guy arrived I made an excuse and put him off but asked few questions. Who pays for the service? Could I call them back for another appointment?. He showed me his folder with 08453402983 on it. I rang this  and got a woman at the company.

 

Apparently it is a free service, ( the original caller and guy at the door said the gov funded it!)that they used to market themselves in the hope of future business. She was interested to know how I got their number. 

 

The company is called the Green  planet advisory service. The guy smart, southern accent driving a BMW ml63aye”
